A.D. Lines has been busy with product development.
We started by printing some of the classics. But the real
joy has been creating several series of inspirational
quotes, wine quotes, florals, fashion shoes, department
store ads of the 50's, retro photography, kid stuff and
more.
WORDS TO LIVE BY and
WORDS TO GROW BY were just the beginning and proved to
be very successful prompting us to continue. It is a
wonderfully creative adventure with no end in sight. Don't
forget to peruse our new category section -
TREND - for what's hot in
the wall décor and home decorating markets.
Contemporary, abstract, modern, expressive, ethnic
... these are just some of the words to describe our spring
into summer collections.
ALFRED GOCKEL
Once again, renowned artist
Alfred Gockel of Avant Art brings the sound and movement
of music to life in his tribute to legendary jazz greats
Django Reinhardt -
DJANGO'S LEGACY; Oscar Peterson -
OSCAR'S OPUS; Wes
Montgomery - REMEMBERING
WES.
He captures the intensity and heat of big city night life
in his hand-pulled and hand-signed silkscreens with
JAZZY FIGURE I
& II and
INTRODUCTION. Then,
follows this up with
HOT & SASSY I - IV;
STEPPIN' OUT I & II;
WILD PARTY I & II and takes us clubbing
DOWNTOWN I - VI and then on to
BLIND WILLY'S for a nightcap and the last set.
Some of that hot jazz translates into the most vividly
colored hexachrome prints of
RIOTOUS TULIPS I - IV not seen in any garden. Around the
corner is a quiet spot filled with
TROPICAL LEAVES I - III;
PALM FRONDS (triptych) and
ECHOS OF PALM LEAVES I & II. Truly, a pause that
refreshes.
Don't pause too long, we are heading for TORTOLLA
UNTAPPED I & II and on to
GRENADA OFF SEASON I & II to join the lovely ladies
MEETING AT THE MARKET I & II and, perhaps, engage in a
little
HOODOO VOODOO I & II.
Never one to sit still, Mr. Gockel covers a lot of ground
and fills one's senses with color, place and movement.

EDITIONS BRAUN
Editions Braun complements Avant Art with its take on
contemporary art. Noted artist,
Arietti, continues her heart of Africa theme with
gorgeously executed animals and natives in golds, ochres,
and rich tobacco browns. You can feel the richness of the
land between your toes.
Doutreleau's sky meets the sea visions are ever so
serene, while NEW YORK
LA NUIT and
CREPUSCULE are vertical blocks of brilliantly colored
streets of the metropolis. Flashes of colored movement
create the excitement of a bull fight in
CORRIDA and
LA CAPE.
Farel's take on the left bank of Paris jazz club is full
of hot music and very cool people. The women are lush and
the men laid back.
Graux evokes the orient with paintings on paintings and
seductive women recumbent among the chaos.
Kerfily uses Technicolor ribbons of paint to anchor his
land and sea scapes.
Missagia places the ordinary apple against backgrounds
of parchment, tapestries, and stonework - all reminiscent of
TIBET, CHINA, INDIA and AFGHANISTAN.
